Jorge Masvidal Has History With Leon Edwards
In the build-up for UFC 287, Jorge Masvidal has commented on possible future opponents at 170lbs after this weekend in Miami. He has eyes on the champion Leon Edwards and, of course, the biggest name in the sports history Conor McGregor.
When speaking with media Masvidal stated that:
“I mean, unless Conor’s b*tchass came to 170, but that midget ain’t coming up to fight me. It goes without saying, me and Leon sell pay-per-views. Leon and (Kamaru) Usman, what did that do? Those numbers ain’t even out because they’re so sh*tty I heard.”

Conor McGregor will return to the cage at 170lbs against Michael Chandler later in the year, now depending on that result, a bout with ‘Gamebred’ could very well be on the cards. However, if McGregor wins in style, then he will almost definitely be fighting for the welterweight title rather than a fight with Masvidal.
He is up against an incredibly tough challenge this weekend in Gilbert Burns, who comes off a brilliant first-round finish of Neil Magny. With a 3rd degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Burns offers a huge threat on the ground. In addition, his striking game has vastly improved, and he brings a great chin and heart to the octagon shown in his violent fight of the year war against Khamzat Chimaev.
Do you think Masvidal will get past Burns and take on Edwards next for the belt?
