After his majority draw at the Gambred Boxing event, Jose Aldo responded to a Conor McGregor tweet offering a boxing bout between old enemies.
The two shared the octagon for a mere but memorable 13 seconds at UFC 194. McGregor unified the featherweight division that night in sensational fashion. The future UFC Hall of Famer was visually annoyed by the comments made by the Irishman. Aldo had this to say in his post-fight interview with MMA Junkie.
“Conor (has a) big mouth,” Aldo told reporters in response to McGregor’s tweet. “He always talks a lot of sh*t. He has a scheduled fight. … Conor, shut your f*cking mouth. We were supposed to fight before in the UFC. You run, and now you still talk sh*t.”

Likelihood of Jose Aldo vs Conor McGregor 2 in Boxing?
Conor McGregor has just recently finished filming TUF 31 against Michael Chandler and is scheduled to fight the American sometime later this year. So will surely be focusing on that bout at 170lbs. Aldo, now with a record of 1-0-1, shrugged off a future boxing match and will discuss what is next for him soon. For this bout, Aldo weighed in at 148lbs which is a weight we are very unlikely to see Conor McGregor make any time soon. So logistically, the fight is a doubt to happen purely based on the natural weights of both men.
Now since the reaction, McGregor has tweeted out an offering to box Aldo’s opponent from the event, Jeremy Stephens. Using one of his many famous quotes from when he had an interaction with Stephens many years ago. The tweet read, “Me and who the f*ck is that guy should box”
This does seem to be a case of McGregor winding up old rivals rather than offering a real legitimate match-up. However, the world of the ‘Notorious’ one is known for the unexpected and astounding.
