Justin Gaethje will make his return at UFC 300, where he will defend his BMF title for the first time. The former lightweight interim champion will throw down with another former champ in Max Holloway. Ahead of their unavoidable barn-burner, Gaethje has stated that he believes Holloway will be too tough for his own good, predicting a doctor stoppage victory.
The highly-anticipated bout will see the current BMF champion attempting to be the first man to knockdown and knockout Holloway. It will be “The Highlight’s” first fight since his incredible victory over Dustin Poirier at UFC 291.
Justin Gaethje Has Predicted a “Doctor Stoppage” in His UFC 300 Bout With Max Holloway
Ahead of the featured bout of UFC 300, Gaethje believes that he will struggle to do to Max Holloway that of which he did to Dustin Poirier. Instead, he thinks he will inflict so much damage that a doctor will stop the fight and save ‘Blessed’ Holloway from himself:
“No one steals the show quite like the highlight. Carnage, chaos, probably some blood and adrenaline coursing through the veins, that is what you are going to get from me. My ability to create damage is second to none,” Justin Gaethje said on a UFC 300 promo video.
“Max Holloway is a legend, probably the only person on the UFC roster that checks every single box of being a BMF so I have a lot of respect for him. However, this is my job and I’m going to try and f**k him up. I will finish Max, he may not go away the traditional way, but I think I will inflict damage to where the doctors need to stop it. We are about to paint a violent picture and no two better guys to go out there and put on a show.”
Should Justin Gaethje be correct and get a doctor stoppage against Max Holloway, it would be the second time that the BMF title bout ended this way. Similarly to how Jorge Masvidal defeated Nate Diaz back in 2019.
