Ituama is ranked 6th in the WBO and talks have taken place between Huni and Itauma’s teams to fight for the WBO interim title.
Justis Huni A Golden Goose For Eddie Hearn-
Eddie Hearn mentioned earlier in fight week on The Stomping Ground that the two were in talks over a potential fight.
Hearn then made this clear and in the limelight after Huni’s 2nd round TKO.
“He’s coming up the governing bodies. I know that the Moses Itauma a chat with the WBO is it a fight that could land for the interim world title? we like that fight. we think it’s a great style for Justis Huni, two tremendous young heavyweights.”
Hearn has also made it clear they don’t want to rush Justis Huni.
“But no rush. you know, as Mark and the team said, we’re going along nicely he’s got plenty of time, he’s going to keep improving, he’s going to keep getting better and better. We need to position him for a shot, at the World Heavyweight title and when it comes, we want to deliver it right here in Australia.”
Justis Huni did mention a injury that he needs to take care of in the next few months which Eddie Hearn later confirmed it was a elbow injury that could keep him out of the ring for a few months.
Despite this injury a fight with Moses looms on the horizon.
