Kamil Rosowski is raring to go at On Top Promotions 24 this Saturday after undergoing a period of inactivity from the Octagon.
The Higher Level MMA fighter will make the walk for the fifth time as an amateur in the ON-X Leisure Centre in Lindwood, aiming to go (4-1) when squared off with Gwenael Dulac.
We had the opportunity of speaking with Kamil Rosowski ahead of Saturday night’s contest. Read the full exclusive interview below.
Interview With Kamil Rosowski
It’s fight week, and you’re back after a long break from competition. How excited are you to be back among the madness of fight week?
Obviously, I’m very excited as I have been waiting for this fight for quite a long while, so finally, after three years and covid, it’s happening.
Before undergoing the long hiatus from competing, you attained three back-to-back wins and found some momentum and consistency in your performances. Was there any reason for taking some time away?
First of all, we had Covid, which obviously brought some disturbing times for all of us but after all sort of came back to normality as such we were looking for opponents and next fight but each time, after all, was sorted they all got cancelled from potential opponents side for different reasons. I don’t feel like I have been on a break as I’ve been training all this time and trying to be always ready when the opportunity comes.
Ring-rust applies to some fighters. Others brush it off and look like they never left upon their return. What’s your take on that? Is that in your mind at all as we close in on fight night?
Like I mentioned in the previous question, I don’t really feel any ring rust, maybe because I stayed in training all this time, so it wasn’t really a break from training/preparing as such, more like there weren’t any available opportunities at that time.
Kamil Rosowski Reveals MMA Lessons
What are some of the biggest lessons training mixed martial arts has taught you?
Firstly, you should never disregard your opponent and feel too sure of yourself as, like in any sport, anything can happen. Secondly, if you want a rainbow, you have to go through the rain. And you know, you are as good as you make it, so don’t give up on your dreams.
Again, assuming you’ve been back training for some time, what new weapons can we expect to see added to the toolbox of Kamil Rosowki?
You will have to wait and see.
You meet Gwenael Dulac on Saturday night. How do you feel about the matchup overall, and have you had the opportunity to watch his one fight back? Are you impressed with what you see?
I’ve seen his last fight, but you know every fight is different and like I said, I never disregard my opponents, so all I can do it’s do my best and win.
What would you have to say to a Gwenael Dulac who looks at your fight years ago with Fraser Hirsch and expects the same version of Kamil to show up?
He won’t see the same version as Fraser. He will see a better version with more strength, more speed and better overall experience, as I had extra three years to prepare for that.
The Future
If victorious in Lindwood on Saturday, how soon would you be looking to get back in there? Are you now seeking activity to make up for lost time?
For now, it’s this fight for me, and that’s what I’m focusing on. After this fight, we will decide on the next steps.
Can we get an official fight prediction and any last words to your opponent?
You can’t predict anything in this sport. All I want to say is, “may the best man win “, and I hope you are ready because I am 100%.
