Kashaan Khan has promised fireworks leading into his Cage Warriors Academy South East 29 clash with Jimmy Quinn on October 8th.
With a respectful name, Cage Warriors South East always back it up with respectable fights. None come more entertaining than a bantamweight title fight between Khan and Quinn.
Khan enters the contest with a (6-2) record and currently finds himself riding good momentum after winning his last two. The Blackbeard MMA representative is no stranger to a title fight, so he is relishing the opportunity to add another to his name.
Ahead of the battle, we had the pleasure of speaking with Kashaan Khan. Read the full interview below.
Interview With Kashaan Khan
Another title fight is on the horizon for you, and you are currently riding great momentum, winning your last two. What do you put your recent success down to?
I’d say my recent success is down to me training a lot smarter and enjoying the process while working closely with my coaches and having that quality time to fix the holes in my game.
What would it mean to you to leave with the title on October 8th? Many fighters I speak with have a different view on attaining amateur belts. Some of it means a lot. Others play it down. Where do you stand?
I always value a fight, title or no title, but winning titles is a great bonus and that Cage Warriors title would be a serious addition to the collection, so hopefully, I can bring it back to my gym God-willing.
Khan Talks Title Fight
Do you alter your preparation in any way with a title being on the line?
We train hard regardless, Alhumdulilah. I think it’s important to always level up in and out of camp, but the intensity is always going to be higher with a fight on your mind.
I asked Jimmy Quinn the same questions, so I’ll ask you as well. What do you expect Jimmy Quinn to bring to the table on fight night? What’s your overall view of him as a fellow competitor?
Jimmy Quinn is tough and well-rounded, and I expect him to bring it on October 8th. I only want the best guys in the country now so I can show my level, God willing, so I am looking forward to our fight.
You’ve always got great support behind you when you step in there. Can we expect to see a loud, noisy crowd there for you on the 8th?
I have a great team behind me, and over the years, my support has grown Alhamdulillah, so I would like to thank all the people who have come to see me fight & watch me online.
Sell the fight to us. Why should those who attend ensure to stay seated when Kashaan Khan and Jimmy Quinn lock horns?
They won’t be seated, Lewis. I’m going to have the crowd on their feet.
Let the readers know how does Kashaan can get it done at Cage Warriors Academy South East. What do you visualise going down?
I’ll do whatever I have to do to get the win.
