Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano has been announced to take place on July 20th for the Undisputed Super-lightweight championship
The latest in a line of obscure announcements in the boxing world, is that of Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano in a rematch for the Undisputed Super-lightweight championship. Whilst the fight itself may not come as a shock to most fans. The fight will play chief support to the controversial fight between Jake Paul and former Undisputed Heavyweight Champion and hall of famer Mike Tyson.

The Queen of women’s boxing Katie Taylor turned her hand to professional boxing in 2016. Following a glittering amateur career which saw her claim the gold medal at the 2012 London Olympic Games. Taylor also won five consecutive gold medals at the World Championships and six gold medal at the European Championships. Since turning professional Katie has transformed women’s boxing into what it is today. Collecting World Championships in three different weight categories and becoming Undisputed in both the lightweight and Super-lightweight division.
Katie’s last fight saw her rematch British fighter Chantelle Cameron following for the Undisputed Super lightweight title. Katie lost her lightweight titles in her previous fight with Cameron, who handed the only loss of her career.
The Puerto-Rican fighter who also has a Guinness world record for the most boxing world championships having held 9 world titles over seven different weight classes. Is promoted by MVP Promotions headed up by Jake Paul. Amanda Serrano was due to box on the undercard of Pauls last fight, but pulled out with an injury just minutes before the fight was meant to take place.
The first Taylor vs Serrano fight too place in April 2022 in the famous Madison Square Garden, in New York. The fight itself was a thriller which saw Taylor take a split decsion win. A result that team Serrano have always hotly contested. July 20th will see Amanda given the chance to claim that victory. The whole card is being streamed on Netflix, it is currently not clear whether this will be available as part of a normal subscription or if this will be a Pay-Per-View event. Either way it is certainly shaping up to be an intriguing night of boxing.
