The PFL puts on its biggest show in its promotional history this Friday at MSG. At the heart of their promotional debut at the Meccah sits one of their biggest names – Kayla Harrison.
The PFL world championship is one of, if not THE most stacked cards the promotion has ever put on. Former Olympian Harrison faces Larissa Pacheco in the main event in the third run-in between the two lightweights.
Larissa Pacheco
Pacheco has a rare opportunity to get revenge on Harrison on the biggest possible stage. The former UFC athlete gets her third chance at the Judoka, and not without reason. Apart from her defeats to the potential GWOAT, Pacheco has been perfect inside the PFL.
In her last ten pro bouts, Pacheco has gone 8-2. A five-fight winning streak has secured her place in the finals of this PFL season and a million-dollar prize in sight. Although her time in the UFC didn’t go as planned, she has certainly made her mark in the PFL and hopes to solidify her name in the female elite this Friday.
Kayla Harrison
Arguably the promotions’ biggest draw, Kayla Harrison will hope to maintain her undefeated record and move to 16-0 on Friday. The 32-year-old hadn’t fought since August when she finished Martina Jindrova by first-round submission.
Harrison and Pacheco last faced each other in 2019 and have both been impressive since. Therefore, both fighters have a chance to show their improvement at MSG. The former Olympian has been in the ‘GWOAT’ argument for quite some time and seems to look better each time she steps out into the cage.
The 155lb’er has already cemented herself as the best female at lightweight, but questions still surround her in terms of competition. If she is to be victorious this Friday, the PFL may need some serious star power to entice her to take another opponent, as she has all but cleared out her division.
Official Prediction: Kayla Harrison defeats Larissa Pacheco by second-round submission.
