The infamous Darren Till is set to return to action at UFC 282, and his best-friend Khamzat Chimaev has shared his anxiety centered around the situation at hand.
Till is set to face up-and-coming prospect Dricus Du Plessis. A warrior who has acknowledged his intention to make a name for himself with an impressive victory over the beloved Englishman.
‘The Gorilla’ last graced the octagon against Derek Brunson and fell victim to a rear-naked choke in the third round. Since then, Till has shown he’s serious about fixing the gaps in his game. Most notably by befriending and training with grappling phenom Khamzat Chimaev. The two have had a very funny friendship that’s graced the headlines many a time. However, what’s not funny is Chimaev’s pure grappling dominance exhibited in the cage. Making the Chechen-born Swede the perfect ally for the beloved Englishman.
However, with Till’s next fight drawing closer and closer, Chimaev has admitted his doubts about his close friend’s return.
Khamzat Chimaev Breaks Down His Doubts About Darren Till’s Fight at UFC 282
During an interview with ESPN MMA, the Chechen-born Swede opened up about the depths of his brotherhood with ‘The Gorilla’. Discussing how deep their bond is, and the doubts he may have about the scheduled return for Till.
“Yes, of course brother. You never know, it’s like when I fight,” said Chimaev. Indicating you never truly know the outcome with Till.
“Me and Darren become so close, he knows my family and I know his family,” Khamzat Chimaev continued. “I know his kids, they are so cute, he has three kids. I love that guy, like my brother. So, of course I will be nervous. He is in good shape, he was training good and Tiger Muay Thai was with him. I couldn’t go there because of my family so I’ve been there.”
