The Boxing bout between KSI and MMA superstar Dillon Danis on January 14th has been cancelled.
American Dillon Danis, with ten days to go, has pulled out for three reasons, according to manager Mams Taylor.
“Danis is pulling out of the fight… he’s under-prepared, he doesn’t have a coach and he might be struggling with weight” said Taylor when speaking to DAZN. Danis has previously raised concerns about rehydration with the upcoming bout, despite there not being a “rehydration clause” according to Taylor.
The YouTuber turned boxer, and musician KSI was scheduled to face Danis for a boxing match at Wembley Arena for six rounds next weekend. It appears that that will no longer go ahead.
However, all hope is not lost, as KSI and his team will continue to look for another opponent. He has confirmed on his Twitter that “the show must go on” and that the event at Wembley will still take place.
Joe Fournier, 9-0 professional boxer had originally been booked as the backup for the event. He claims that he is the official alternate in an interview with Fred Talks Fighting. As to the legitimacy and the event in Wembley, it remains to be seen that Fournier will become KSI’s new opponent.
KSI is no stranger to pullouts with his events, and more than likely has a list of opponents ready to jump in on a minute’s notice.
What do you think about Dillon Danis pulling out on such short notice?
