As the countdown begins to his professional debut at Almighty Fighting Championship 35, Kyle Davies shares his thoughts and preparations ahead of this significant milestone in his journey.
Reflecting on the lead-up to his debut, Davies maintains a composed demeanour, viewing the event as just another day at the office. He expresses his eagerness to step back into the cage and continues to focus on personal growth and improvement:
“I am feeling good, looking forward to getting back in there, I wouldn’t say there’s anything special about it, really, just seeing it as another day, another fight and enjoying getting better every day.”
Hailing from a gym known for producing top-tier talent, Davies draws inspiration from his teammates’ dedication and success. While no specific advice has been imparted, Davies observes the hard work put in by his fellow athletes and channels that motivation into his own training:
“we’ve got loads of top talent coming out the gym; there’s no advice has been given I just see where they’re at and see the hard work being put in and take inspiration from it and keep putting the work in myself; all you can do, really.”
Kyle Davies Ready for Pro Debut
Turning his attention to his decision to turn professional, Davies emphasizes the importance of seizing the moment. At 26 years old, he recognizes that the time is ripe to embark on this new chapter in his career. With a pragmatic outlook, Davies remains focused on continual growth and advancement:
“The reason for me turning professional now is because I’m not getting any younger. I’m 26; I just feel now the time. I don’t see it as a big thing really, just gonna keep working hard to get where I want to be, the skies the limit.”
Recalling his last victory over Mario Aguilar, Davies acknowledges the satisfaction of emerging triumphant against a formidable opponent. Despite facing uncertainty heading into the bout, Davies remained focused on executing his game plan and securing the win. He reflects:
It” was good to get a win over Mario, he was a solid guy, was happy with it, didn’t know what to expect going into as I knew nothing about him but just focused on what I needed to do to get the job done.”
Looking ahead, Davies acknowledges the challenges posed by his recent lack of activity but remains determined to make the most of his opportunities in the upcoming year. He expresses his desire to stay active and hopes to compete in multiple fights to compensate for lost time.
“I would like to stay more active this year, get as many fights as possible, its been quite hard with having pull out an stuff like that so hopefully get a good few fights this year.”
