Leon Edwards labeled his two-time former foe as the ‘worst fighter of all time’ and claimed he wants the rematch in 2025.
Edwards is looking to bounce back from his loss to Belal Muhammad when he faces Jack Della Maddalena in the main event of UFC London on March 22.
The loss, at UFC 304 in July, was the Brit’s first in nine years and saw him lose his welterweight championship.
The 33-year-old appeared on The Louis Theroux Podcast recently, as part of the buildup to his fight in London. While speaking to the legendary UK interviewer, he named Jon Jones and Anderson Silva as the two greatest mixed martial artists of all time.
And when asked who the worst fighter of all time was, he was quick to mention his most recent adversary.
He said: “[Worst?] Belal. I’d love to run it back. Normal time, I’d love to run it back again next year (2025).”
Another fight between the pair would actually make it a trilogy. They first matched up in early 2021 after Khamzat Chimaev withdrew from the matchup with the Team Renegade fighter.
Muhammad stepped in but the fight ended in controversial fashion when an eye poke rendered him unable to continue.

Leon Edwards Discusses a Potential Trilogy With Muhammad
It looks as though Shavkat Rakhmonov will be next for the welterweight title shot, as he defeated Ian Machado Garry in December in a five-round title eliminator.
And should the champion get through the Kazakhstani, Edwards is convinced he will be next in line.
Speaking to Linkup TV he said: “I feel like after beating Jack, definitely (I can get a title shot). He’s ranked five or four in the world. And, in the welterweight division right now, there are not a lot of people barking for a title shot.”
Edwards continued: “I think Belal is fighting Shavkat, hopefully April or May. After that, there is no one else for the title apart from me.
“I go out there March 22, put on a great performance, I can’t see why not.”
