Leon Edwards Issues Statement Following Brady Defeat
Following his defeat at UFC Fight Night, Leon Edwards hasn’t publicly spoken or released a statement to his fans. The Brit who is now on a two-fight losing streak needs to bounce back to reclaim his belt. Having lost his belt to Belal Muhammad, Edwards needed a strong performance to convince Dana White he deserved a rematch. However, things didn’t go to plan for the Birmingham fighter.
Sean Brady rag-dolled Leon Edwards from start to finish with the American dominating the former champion on the ground. Despite being a slight underdog, Brady silenced the UK audience by securing a submission.
Following the event, Edwards remained quiet before releasing a message to his fans late last night. Writing on Instagram, the former welterweight champion said: “Still HIM.”
Sean Brady Looks to Secure Title Opportunity
After a dominant UFC Fight Night performance over a former champion in Leon Edwards, Sean Brady will be looking to secure a title fight in the near future. Blessed with incredible grappling ability, the American is now the number one ranked contender in the welterweight division. Michael Bisping knew how tough of an opponent Brady was going to be for the British fighter.
Furthermore, with Belal Muhammad set to face Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 315, the winner could face Brady afterwards. However, Sean Brady faces a tough road to the title with dangerous opponents such as Shavkat Rakhmonov and Khamzat Chimaev still in the division.
