UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards quickly shut down a title shot suggestion from old foe Belal Muhammad after the recent announcement of UFC London.
The UFC is coming back to the UK for the third time in two years. This time though, we have a pay-per-view on our hands, expected to be headlined by Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman for their trilogy bout.
After the success of the last two events in London, fighters are itching to get themselves on the 2023 card. This includes welterweight contender Belal Muhammad, who has already suggested he’ll be there.

Muhammad initially hinted that he would be at the event with a simple ‘See you there’:
This was met with a reply from MMA news outlet Spinnin Backfist, who asked ‘contract signed?’
Muhammad then claimed to be waiting for a signature from Edwards before the champ weighed in himself.
Edwards made it clear that he has no plans of giving Belal a title shot just yet.
Edward’s Previous Meeting with Muhammad
In March 2021, Edwards and Muhammad met in the main event of a UFC Fight Night.
Unfortunately, early into round 2, an eye poke from Leon left Belal unable to continue, making the fight a no-contest.
Since then, Edwards has gone on to beat Nate Diaz, and then famously dethroned Kamaru Usman to become UFC champion.
Muhammad has beaten Demian Maia, Stephen Thompson, Vicente Luque and Sean Brady since their meeting, putting him on an impressive four fight win streak.
Many fans believe that score should be settled, so a fight between them could be closer than you think.
