Post-fight Interview With Lewis Lever
In reflection, how do you feel about your most recent performance over Osian Gil Gomez? Are you satisfied with how the fight unfolded?
Yes, I am very satisfied with my performance at Kingdom 3. I am happy to get three dominating rounds in & almost get the finish against a good fighter.
How do you cope with the pressure of fighting on these amateur shows at such a young age as opposed to everyone else?
I’m not feeling pressure at all for my age. It’s about levels, and I am confident in my abilities.
Where do you feel your maturity comes from inside the cage? For someone that still has years and years to progress and get better, you are very defensively sound with a great I.Q. in there.
My maturity and fighting I.Q. comes from studying styles and experience in different disciplines.
Onto June, what’s the mindset and thoughts now looking ahead to the title fight in June?
I am happy to be getting a title fight so soon. Another good opponent, show more of my skill set & hopefully get the win.
You’re off to a flying start in 2023. What are the big goals for you in 2023? What do you want to achieve?
My goals this year are the same, keep working hard and putting on high-level performances.
What’s Lewis Lever’s long-term plan for turning pro? Is there an age you want to hit or experience you want to build before doing so?
I probably will turn pro at an early age, 18 or so, when the time feels right. I want to enjoy my amateur career and get a few titles to my name first.
