22 year old English-Irish flyweight Lewis McGrillen has signed for the PFL on a one fight deal, according to his Instagram.
McGrillen has announced that he will be fighting at PFL Europe 1 on Saturday March 25th. This will be the first event in the new ‘PFL Europe’ series, which is set to highlight regional talents and allow them to grow on the big stage. Headlining the event will be England’s own Dakota Ditcheva against the French prospect Clara Ricignuolo.
McGrillen as a Prospect
Experienced for his age, this will be Lewis McGrillen’s 7th fight as a pro. Known for his power in his southpaw left hand shot, McGrillen has been tearing apart the regional scene annihilating everybody that he faces. Most recently, McGrillen won the VFC Flyweight belt via a second round TKO against Romero Dos Reis, where Reis crumbled under McGrillen’s pressure.
The Manchester Top Team fighter is 6-0, all knockouts, 5 in the first round. McGrillen was also 7-1 as an amateur.
A huge opportunity for the young prospect, it will be interesting to see how he gets on on the big stage. Given McGrillen’s past fights, it seems that he thrives under pressure, and fighting under a banner as big as the PFL in his home country will likely spur him on.
How do you think Lewis McGrillen gets on in the PFL?
