Liam Molloy has signed a multi-fight deal with Cage Warriors. The British fighter earned the contract by finishing his last bout in a devasting fashion, a flash knockout.
Liam Molloy: A Rising Star
The British fighter holds a professional record of 3-2-0. He fights out of Next Generation in Liverpool, a star-studded gym. Liam Molloy trains alongside UFC fighters such as Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann. Also on the mat are black belt competitors spanning most martial arts, such as Connor Wilson, who fights under the Cage Warriors banner while holding a black belt in karate. The list of top-class fighters is endless.
Liam Molloy trains alongside and is arguably one of Britain’s most highly touted prospects. Inside the octagon as an amateur, he fought six bouts in just over a year-and-a-half, winning five. During this run, he was not finished, only dropping a loss via decision. It should be mentioned that the sole loss as an amateur was to a fighter who had fought twice the amount of bouts as Liam had. He exhibited his ability to finish fights in the same timeframe, winning four via KO/TKO and catching a submission. As an amateur, he only needed the judge’s nod once, and it was a unanimous decision win.
Transition to Professional MMA
Following an impressive amateur run, Liam Molloy proceeded to begin his career on the professional circuit. He has struggled for consistency, the global pandemic playing a hand. He won his professional debut and has not been able to string together results, going 3-2-0. In the last bout, the British starlet left no doubt, only allowing the opponent 26 seconds of consciousness. With a concentrated camp firing on all cylinders, this is what we can come to expect from Liam Molloy. With multiple fights to come under the Cagewarrior banner, there is a lot to be excited about!
