Internet sensation Logan Paul has announced that he has retired from boxing to focus on his role in the world of wrestling.
The American YouTube star last fought bitter rival Dillon Danis on the Misfits Prime Card on the 14th of October. Paul picked up the victory after Dannis was disqualified at the end of the fight, after attempting to put his opponent in a guillotine choke. The fight, which is the only professional victory Paul has achieved in boxing, ended in chaos with a mass brawl in the ring.
The Future of Logan Paul
Since the fight in Manchester, ‘The Maverick’ has returned to compete in the WWE, where he took on legend Rey Mysterio for the United States Championship, at their premium live event Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. Logan Paul picked up the win leading to him becoming the new champion, with him parading around with his new belt, alongside promoting his energy drink company Prime.
Speaking in a interview with FOX Business he said: ” “Yeah, I think I’ve retired from boxing, I think I’ve done enough in the sport, going fully undefeated at 25-0” joked Paul. He added “There’s no more money in boxing, every company is going broke, so full time wrestler.”
With Logan Paul now being a champion within WWE he is likely to become a more full-time member with the company, and will take place in more of their shows across America and when they travel internationally. He could possibly return to boxing in the future, but with no rivalries at the moment, and fans unwilling to want to watch a rematch between him and Dannis after the underwhelming bout, it could be the final time we see him in a boxing ring.
He will still be at the influencer boxing events, with his younger brother Jake Paul still firmly involved in the scene. Jake is set to fight on the 15th of December against pro boxer Andre August.
