Higher Level Martial Art’s fighter Lorenzo Parente is as game and as ready as they come!
Lorenzo willingly stepped up during fight week and offered his services to take on Jordan Allan at Almighty Fighting Championship 30. The Scot will share the card with teammate Giovanni Olakunori who faces Ture Abasoro for the heavyweight title.
Ahead of the last-minute fight, we had the pleasure of catching a few words from Lorenzo, who is physically and mentally in a good place.
Interview With Lorenzo Parente
Curious. Stepping in on fight week is obviously not for everyone. What’s the mindset behind that fight, and what does preparation consist of in the lead-up to the fight, given you’ve only got a few days?
Physically and mentally, I feel great right now. I train consistently all year round; I rarely take a week of training, so I’m always in fight shape and ready to go.
The man standing in your way is Jordan Allan. What do you know about your opponent, if anything? Or is it just a case of focussing on your own game this time round?
I respect him. He seems like a young hardworking individual like myself. His striking looks pretty decent, but outside of that, I don’t think his wrestling and jiujitsu is on my level.
Lorenzo Parente on Experienced Amateur Career
You’ve had a very credentialed and experienced amateur career. Is the pro-ranks on your mind soon? If so, when can we expect to see you make your debut?
Pro ranks have definitely been on my mind this year obviously had a little setback with my last fight, but I’m ready to rewrite wrongs and get back to winning ways and get this win here on Saturday. Then I have a four-nation tournament in July, and we’ll take it from there.
You’ll share the card with teammate Giovanni Olakunori, who fights for the AFC heavyweight title. How excited are you to see him inside the cage?
Of course, I’m looking forward to big Giovanni fighting. The guy works very hard, so it will be great to see him perform this Saturday and hopefully walk away AFC heavyweight champion.
Finally, leave us with what we can expect to see from you on Saturday night.
You can expect a very exciting fight from start to finish. I’m ready for 9 minutes. I’m feeling the strongest I’ve ever felt, And I believe it will show this Saturday.
