Luis Saldana takes a one-point deduction which results in a draw with Sean Woodson. A weird round one was put behind both men who went on to produce an entertaining fight at UFC 278.
Both men seem to have found success with their hands. Luis Saldana lands a huge check hook and wobbles Woodson badly. Weirdly instead of capitalising on the damage done, he begins to taunt. Once again though just moments later he lands a jab that puts Sean flat on his back.
This fight once again takes another bizarre turn when instead of using ground and pound to almost certainly end the fishy. Luis throws an illegal knee that clearly hits the head of Woodson. The ref spots the foul and calls time. Luis thinks he’s won. However, his world comes quickly crashing down
Now with time to recuperate Sean takes his time before continuing and fully clears the cobwebs. Saldana is deducted one point for his actions.
Now in round two, the fight seems back to normal. Both men once again have success on their feet. Saldana changes levels and lands a takedown. Controlling from the top he looks comfortable. Until Woodson locks on a buggy choke attempt, Luis survives in this for over a minute.
After his initial success in round two with the grappling. Saldana attempts to repeat it in the third. Back on the feet, the pace of the fight is starting to show as both men slow. A laboured effort from both sees out the end of the fight.
