Luke Rockhold turned up the heat on Mike Perry at the face-off by putting him in a rear naked choke as the latter posed to the crowd.
Former MMA fighters Luke Rockhold and Mike Perry will go head to head at BKFC 41 in a light-heavyweight contest. The pair will go head to head in the main event this Saturday in a 5-round bout, for Rockhold it’s his BKFC debut while Perry will be fighting in his 3rd outing for the promotion.
Luke Rockhold is coming into the fight this weekend after retiring from MMA after a 3-round war with Paulo Costa back in August. Luke has lost his last 3 MMA fights, before mentioned to Costa by decision, and losses against Yoel Romero and Jan Blackowicz by TKO which is worrying going into this fight with Perry.
Mike Perry on the other hand is coming off 2 decision wins in BKFC and has the upper hand in terms of experience in fighting with no gloves. Last time out Perry beat British striker Michael ‘Venom’ Page in a very competitive 6-round fight, he also picked up a convincing unanimous decision win against Julian Lane in his BKFC debut.
Luke Rockhold & Perry Were Fired up at the Press Conference
At the BKFC press conference when the pair faced off they began trading insults and fainting punches, with Mike even going WWE and gesturing to hit Luke with the belt. The pair then faced the crowd and Luke took his opportunity to put Perry in a rear naked choke, Perry thankfully took this in good stead and saw the funny side and the pair exited the stage.
Both fighters are feeling confident ahead of the fight on Saturday night, Luke has both the natural weight and a huge 6-inch reach advantage over Perry, ‘Platinum’ brings his brawling style and BKFC experience. Rockhold and Perry are looking to knock each other out so it makes for an exciting fight.
