As the countdown to his return to the cage ticks away, Mak Reeder is gearing up for an exciting bout at Rise and Conquer against Natkiwicz in the Rainton Arena.
“I took some time for myself as I was wearing myself too thin with other commitments in my life. I’d decided to take a year away from MMA and really focus on improving my BJJ, which I did at North East Jiu Jitsu.”
Reflecting on his time away, Mak emphasizes his commitment to training, despite a few setbacks due to injuries.
“Yeah, I’ve been consistent with training, except for the odd injury here and there. It’s nice coming back knowing my ground game has developed massively.”
With the dedication put into honing his skills, Mak anticipates showcasing a more refined version of himself when he steps into the cage.
Mak Reeder on Rise and Conquer Bout
“I believe so, yes. It’s inevitable that a year focusing solely on BJJ is going to improve my ground game for MMA. It’s been fun adapting it back towards the MMA ruleset, so you can expect a more mature Mak Reeder come fight night.”
Facing off against Natkiwicz, Mak acknowledges the challenge posed by his opponent’s aggressive striking style.
“I’ve not seen much, but from what I have and what I’ve heard, he is a wild striker, so I’m expecting an explosive start from him.”
In conclusion, Mak expresses his enthusiasm for putting on a captivating performance for his supporters and stresses the importance of securing a victory to kickstart his year.
“I can’t wait to get in there and put on a show for those coming to watch. Expect me to capitalize on the openings he leaves from his wild punches.”
