The UFC Mexico main card is opened up with an exciting lightweight bout between Manuel Torres and Chris Duncan. Both fighters come into this contest with impressive records and a history of dynamic performances inside the Octagon.
Manuel Torres Submits Chris Duncan at UFC Mexico
“El Loco” holds a professional MMA record of 14-2, and has showcased his knockout power and submission skills, finishing all his opponents in his last five fights in the first round. His UFC journey began with a knockout win on the Contender Series, followed by another knockout against Frank Camacho in his debut, and a recent victory over Nikolas Motta at UFC on ESPN 47. Torres, fighting out of Mexico, brings an aggressive style to the cage, combining diverse striking with his grappling. He’s known for his finishing ability, having not seen a fight go past the first round in his last nine contests.
Chris Duncan
“The Problem” from Scotland, brings an 11-1 record into the fight. Despite a setback on the Contender Series, he redeemed himself with a knockout win to earn a UFC contract. Duncan has demonstrated his resilience and well-rounded skill set with a split decision win over Omar Morales in his UFC debut and a unanimous decision over Yanal Ashmoz in his last outing. He’s a strong wrestler and a powerful striker, with a style well-suited to test Torres’ abilities, especially at the elevation of Mexico City.
Torres is seen as the more dangerous fighter due to his knockout power, but Duncan’s durability and wrestling could see him through if the fight extends beyond the first round. However, the oddsmakers are leaning towards Torres leveraging his striking prowess to secure a victory, possibly by knockout, although Duncan’s resilience and ability to absorb damage and wrestle effectively at elevation could see him pull off an upset.
What Unfolded at UFC Mexico

The shear strength of Torres showed when he dragged Duncan to the mat, took the back and sunk in a rear-naked-choke to secure his first UFC submission.
Official result: Manuel Torres def. Chris Duncan by submission via rear-naked-choke in round one.
