As the anticipation builds for another thrilling night of MMA action at Rise and Conquer, Marcus Anderson gears up to face off against Adam Green at the Rainton Arena in Houghton le Spring.
Ahead of the showdown, Marcus shares insights into his journey since his debut and his preparations for the upcoming fight:
“Things have been going well, I haven’t stopped training and I am looking to develop in every aspect of MMA training 5 days a week,” Marcus affirms when asked about life post-debut victory.
Reflecting on his debut experience, Marcus reminisces, “It was great, from walking out and seeing the bright lights and holding that Scotland flag with pride, it felt unreal. Everyone in the crowd was kind of like a silhouette I didn’t really notice them and just focused on getting the job done.”

Despite securing victory in the second round against Michael Connor, Marcus acknowledges areas for improvement:
“I wasn’t pleased with accepting getting hit, I was so focused on hitting him that I didn’t care about him hitting me back and it cost me a clean performance, I never got to show my wrestling or BJJ game just because I had that first fight nerves and Michael didn’t play that game either.”
Turning his attention to his upcoming opponent, Adam Green, Marcus sizes up the competition: “He’s a big strong grappler who hits like a truck. I have watched it but I know it’s an amateur level and the guy that fought last time won’t be the same and neither will I. I’m sure we will both have developed our games and will both be ready to put on a show.”
When asked about his thoughts before the fight, Marcus emphasizes his visualization process: “I am visualizing everything as I done last time from the ring walk to getting my hand raised any way I can, visualizing winning is the easiest way to make it happen for me and that’s what I’m doing.”
Looking ahead to his goals for 2024, Marcus expresses his determination to stay active and make his mark in the MMA scene: “I really want to stay active, I know I enjoy some sweet treats so I don’t want to allow myself to get fat and hopefully finish the year going 3/4-0 and really making a mark on the MMA scene.”
As Marcus Anderson prepares to step into the cage once again, fans can expect nothing short of an exciting and hard-fought battle. Stay tuned as he aims to conquer new heights in his MMA journey.
