Croatian heavyweight Martin Batur has had his win over Paul Elliott at ONE 160 on August 26 re-ruled a no contest after testing positive for an androgenic anabolic steroid, which is a banned substance according to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
The sample was collected and processed by International Doping Tests & Management (IDTM).
Martin Batur Banned
As a result of the positive test, Batur has been suspended for one year under ONE Anti-Doping Program guidelines, and the win was taken from his record.
Martin Batur will be subjected to future testing in and out of competition.
Batur trains out of UFD Gym, home to new ONE superstar Roberto Soldic. The Croatian is the first casualty of the new anti-doping testing brought in by ONE this summer.
ONE’s new drug testing partner, International Doping Tests & Management, is a subsidiary of Drug-Free Sports International and will independently handle all testing for illegal substances.
ONE had not publicly drug-tested its athletes previously in its 11-year history, and many will see this as a statement of the way for one of the world’s leading MMA promotions.
