As the anticipation builds for his upcoming bout at Rise and Conquer, Matthew Day is gearing up for another showdown in the Rainton Arena. Physically and mentally prepared, Day expresses confidence, emphasizing the consistent improvements he’s made along the way:
“I’m feeling great physically and mentally for this fight with consistent improvements made along the way.”
Reflecting on his previous victory over Kieran Halliday last year, Day acknowledges the importance of breaking a period of inactivity and showcasing his progress. While securing the win is always the goal, Day also values the opportunity to demonstrate his growth as a fighter.
“It’s always the goal to get the win but it was also about showcasing the improvements I’ve made during that period of inactivity.” Matthew Day states.
As he looks ahead to the new year, Day’s mindset remains focused on continual improvement. With the aim of having a busy year and potentially competing in three fights, Day is eager to see where his journey takes him:

“The mindset overall hasn’t changed, I’m just looking to make improvements to my game between my fights and show them when I fight. I would like to aim for 3 fights this year, 2 as a minimum and see where it takes me.”
Facing Dobson on fight night, Day sees it as a good matchup, recognizing the challenge presented by Dobson’s awkward stand-up style. Despite the unfamiliarity, Day remains confident in his abilities to adapt and perform.
“I think its a good fight for me, he seems awkward in his stand up and it will present a different challenge on the night.”
In terms of an official prediction, Day keeps it simple yet determined. On fight night, he plans to showcase his improvements and hopes to secure another finish if the opportunity arises.
“On fight night I’ll be looking to show my improvements and pick up another finish if it presents itself.”
