UKFC 19 is just around the corner, and they’ve just announced a spectacular pairing. On May 14th, when the cage doors shut, Matthew Pugh and Romeu Nobrega will square off.
This flyweight battle gives Pugh the chance to build a winning streak while Nobrega can turn the tide in a big way. Let’s dive in.
Matthew Pugh vs Romeu Nobrega
Pugh enters UKFC 19 with an amateur record of 3-1, recently defeating Nayem Hoque at UKFC 18. Nobrega, on the other hand, enters with a record of 0-2. Nobrega can turn around all of the bad luck with a win here. Pugh is not going to let that happen easily.
We’ve already seen Matthew strive wherever the fight ends up. Pugh secured a submission victory in the second round at UKFC 18 to rebound well from his first loss most recently. In his debut, he stopped Callum Walker in the first round. He was on both ends of decision outcomes. The Reps MMA fighter undoubtedly walks in the favourite, but surely is not taking his opponent lightly. His experience wherever this fight may end up, or however long it may go is his biggest advantage.
Romeu Nobrega looks to turn the tide and shock the viewing audience. If Romeu is to pull the upset, then he has to take the learning experiences from his first two losses. Going the distance in both fights prior, Nobrega undoubtedly can take plenty of positives as well. This is a fight that Romeu will not take lightly. A fight that will truly be decided by who wants it more.
