As the countdown begins for Max Brodie’s second amateur MMA bout at Goliath Fight Series 6 on March 23, anticipation is building. We caught up with Max Brodie to get a glimpse into his mindset ahead of this highly anticipated match-up against Jamie Murray.
Reflecting on his journey since his debut last year, Max shared, “There’s been some ups and downs for me over the past year, if I’m honest, but something that’s kept me looking forward and feeling positive overall is how consistent I’ve stayed with training. The gym has a fantastic vibe just now; plenty of people have been working hard, and it’s been paying off for the whole team. Being a part of that environment every day just lifts you up.”
Addressing the gap since his last fight, Max explained, “I had surgery not long after my debut, which kept me from pushing the intensity of my sessions, and although frustrating, in the long run, it’s been a blessing for my body. I’ve healed some wounds and expanded my mind; now I’m ready to let everybody see what I can really do!”
Max Brodie Ready to Secure First Win at Goliath Fight Series
On the topic of his debut loss, Max remained upbeat, saying, “My spirit has stayed high even though my last fight didn’t go my way. I did what I could against a good opponent who deserves recognition for how active and well he’s been doing since then. Getting to my debut was a rough road, so to even be there, fighting had me elated, and I took so much forward with me from that time.”
Looking ahead to his upcoming opponent, Jamie Murray, Max commented, “Coming into this fight feels good for me; there’s not much I feel I can learn from Jamie’s Ultra MMA bout because it was so long ago, and people can evolve so quickly with the right approach. With that, all I’ve had to work with training for this fight are my strengths, and I’m strong as f*ck.”
When asked about his mindset going into this fight, Max assured, “Everybody watching can expect a dismantling. I’m not showing up this time happy to be there, I’m there to start something special.”
As Max Brodie gears up for his showdown against Jamie Murray, one thing is clear – he’s ready to showcase his growth, determination, and hunger for victory. Make sure to catch all the action at Goliath Fight Series 6 on March 23!
