Max Holloway, victories on Saturday night explained his mentality behind not calling out the Featherweight Champion Volkanovski.
The main event at UFC Singapore saw 2 of the division’s legends go toe to toe. Max Holloway (25-7) and The Korean Zombie (17-8) went blow for blow on Saturday in a quite thrilling fight. Zombie came out swinging in the third round, but Max found an excellent counter that put Zombie down and ended the fight.
Another victory in the division for Max keeps him in the #1 contender spot. That win now puts Max on a 2 fight win streak after beating Arnold Allen earlier this year. However with 3 losses to the current champ Alexander Volkanovski, the future for ‘Blessed’ is not so simple.
Max Holloway Gives Context on Reluctance to Call Someone Out
Max spoke at the post-fight press conference on his mindset at the moment:
“Undeniable, man. All week, I’ve been saying undeniable. I’m not here to call nobody out. That’s your guy’s job to figure that out. That’s the fan’s job to do for me. I’m just here to be undeniable, keep being undeniable. I’m going to keep crawling, scratching my way back to the top of the mountain, and no one’s going to stop me getting there.”
‘Blessed’ then continued to speak about matchmaking and the nature of callouts:
“I’m not a matchmaker man, it is what it is. If the undeniable arc is going that way, then it’s going that way. I’m not here to call anybody out, I’m not here to ask for no fights. I’m just here to have a good time and make some money. So whatever way it goes.”

At this stage, it seems Max is undeniably the second-best featherweight in the UFC. He’s held the #1 spot in the division since losing the belt and continues to rack up wins against contenders.
