This Saturday Max Holloway returns to the Octagon and the former champion is making no excuses building up to his fight against British standout Arnold Allen.
Since losing the trilogy fight against Alexander Volkanovski in July, ‘Blessed’ has been out of action. Many considered Max to be the greatest featherweight of all time and while the first 2 fights in the trilogy were extremely close the third was a washout, therefore a pathway back to a title shot looks tough.
at UFC Kansas City this weekend Max comes up against the surging British contender Arnold ‘Almighty’ Allen in a main event that has the MMA world on the edge of its seat. Allen is currently riding a 10 fight win streak in the UFC over names such as Calvin Kattar, Dan Hooker and Gilbert Melendez. Allen represents a huge challenge for ‘Blessed’.
Max Holloway Details His Loss to Volkanovski
Max Holloway revealed all in the interview with ESPN: “Losing sucks bro. Losing sucks, it is what it is.” Max stated: “But, I’m not here to make any excuses, that man was just better on that night. It is what it is, that’s what happens. I don’t want to sit and tell you all, ‘I didn’t feel good that night, I had a sore stomach, blah, blah, blah, and this and that’. But I hate when people whine man, I hate when people make excuses.”
He elaborated, “I’m not going to make any excuses for myself. I went out there, I made that walk, I believed I could get it done, I didn’t. He was just the better man that night bro, he looked super good in there. That’s just it man. Every dog has its day, and that was his day. We’ll go from there, and see what happens.”
