In just two fights time, Meatball Molly McCann went from facing unemployment to more financially comfortable than ever. After telling Eddie Hearn to watch what was to come, Molly seemed almost overconfident. It turns out she under promised and over delivered. The result officially scored her a life-changing sponsorship. Thank you, Barstool Sports and Dave Portnoy.
What Does This Mean?
Dave Portnoy first tweeted that Molly would join Barstool, and he confirmed this five days later. Said to be six figures, Graham Boylan confirmed the deal on Twitter. Molly joins close friend Paddy Pimblett with Barstool Sports and can financially exhale. The Barstool website already promised plenty of content to come from Molly and The Baddy, and we can’t wait. This platform is a perfect fit for the duo, so we can’t wait to see the content to come.
Paddy and Molly have opened the door for more UFC fighters to net sponsorship deals that heavily impact their earnings, which can only be viewed as a good thing. Molly went from the brink of unemployment to standing on wealth’s doorstep with the world in front of her. In just seven fateful months, everything changed for ‘Meatball’, so it can also change for other fighters.
This type of financial security evokes better results than ever previously anticipated for many fighters. With how Molly has been fighting lately, it’s hard to imagine her having even more fire in her chest. So, no longer having the financial stresses that can come with an early UFC career, McCann’s full attention can be directed to the task at hand: getting her hand raised in the octagon.
Molly’s life entered a different phase with the performance put on at UFC London, rightfully earned through blood, sweat and tears. Achieving the best women’s knockout in MMA history didn’t hurt her luck, so we’ll put that below.
