Relentless Pressure sees Merab Dvalishvili take the victory against an all-time great in Jose Aldo at UFC 278.
An extremely close first round. Aldo is patient and looks to counter and set traps. Merab stays on the front foot. Two attempted takedowns were defended well by Aldo. The closing round leads to an explosive exchange for both, but the round ends with no major blows landed.
Round two starts and on the advice of his corner head need to press the takedown. He does just that, but it’s once again defended. However, he finds himself controlling the fight along the cage. This is the story of the round until one minute remains. Back in the open Aldo is looking to make something happen for him in typical Aldo style with knees and leg kicks.
Jose seems to have a little more impetus in the third. Not allowing the grappling exchanges to hold him back. Dvalishvili is relentless on the pressure and continually presses forward. He is nonstop. His grappling sees him control the end of the round.
