Michael Bisping Says He’d Beat Jake Paul in a Fight
Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has confidently stated that he would defeat Jake Paul in the ring. Known for his outspoken personality, Bisping didn’t hold back when discussing the YouTuber-turned-boxer. Despite being retired since 2017, Bisping expressed confidence that he could still take on Paul, saying he would “smoke” him in a match.
Bisping Criticizes Michael Bisping Jake Paul Matchup
In a recent interview with Mirror Fighting, Bisping didn’t mince words about Jake Paul’s fighting career:
“Jake Paul, listen, I’ve got nothing personal against Jake Paul, but he just likes to attack the UFC, he likes to attack MMA fighters, all while cherry-picking guys that aren’t boxers,” Bisping stated. He questioned Paul’s choice of opponents, urging him to “go and box a boxer or go and fight someone your own age.”
Although he acknowledged Paul’s business success, Bisping stressed that Paul’s boxing career doesn’t hold up in the same way. “As a businessman, he’s made a tremendous amount of money, and I applaud him for that,” Bisping said. “But don’t give me this baddest man on the planet stuff.”
Bisping Reveals Paul Sent a Contract
Even though Bisping has been retired for years, Paul reached out with a contract, hoping to draw him back into a fight. Reflecting on the offer, Bisping wasn’t entertaining it:
“I mean the man was calling me out not long ago, sending a contract to my manager.” He found it amusing that Paul would pursue him despite his retirement and health issues. “I would smoke Jake Paul in a heartbeat, but I’m not gonna lower myself to doing that,” Bisping added, emphasizing that he had no interest in the challenge.
The Heated Rivalry Between Michael Bisping and Jake Paul
The back-and-forth between Michael Bisping and Jake Paul has escalated over the years, fueled by Paul’s ongoing strategy of facing former UFC fighters. After victories over Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren, and Nate Diaz, Paul has a track record of calling out retired MMA fighters, which Bisping sees as a way to avoid true boxing competition.
With Paul’s upcoming fight against Mike Tyson on November 15, Bisping shared his thoughts on Paul’s choice to fight a nearly 60-year-old former champion. In a video on his YouTube channel, Bisping referred to Paul as “a joke” and “a disgrace to the combat world.” He continued, “The man’s almost 60. He’s almost a pensioner.”
