Michael Bisping weighs in on Conor McGregor’s recent assault allegations.
Throughout his tenure at the top of mixed martial arts, McGregor has been involved in several crimes and allegations outside of the cage. That being said, the most recent allegation is perhaps the worst yet.
Following celebrating his birthday in Ibiza, the Irishman invited a neighbour from Dublin to his afterparty on his yacht. The woman accused McGregor of insulting and physically assaulting her, resulting in the woman jumping off the boat to flee the situation.
UFC Middleweight Michael Bisping Comments on Conor McGregor Allegations
Bisping reacted to the allegations on his Youtube channel, stating the following:
“The reality is, it’s innocent until proven guilty. That is the world that we live in. Anybody can say anything, it doesn’t make it true. I am not defending Conor McGregor at all. I’m not in the business of doing that…”
Bisping continued by insinuating there’s many money seekers out there, so it’s hard to understand the legitimacy of the situation until McGregor’s proven guilty:
“However, he’s very rich, he’s very famous, and there is ambulance chasers. There is people that go after money. McGregor, wherever he goes, much like Mike Tyson back in the day, there’s a lot of assholes. I’m not saying she is one. I’m not saying she’s an ambulance chaser. I’m not saying she’s making it all up, but I’m also not saying it’s true.”

It’s not the first time McGregor’s been accused of terrible incidents outside of the cage, but he is yet to be convicted. Having the star power and financial success the 36-year-old has accumulated over the years does come with its downside of money-hungry individuals trying their luck to secure a healthy payday. Nonetheless, if found guilty, McGregor must be punished through the justice system for his accusations. But, for now, as Bisping stated, “innocent until proven guilty”.
Innocent Until Proven Guilty
The former UFC middleweight champion clarified he’s not defending McGregor or deeming the woman a liar but does understand the reality of the situation, and nobody should jump to conclusions.
Either way, it’s not a good look. Certainly not a good look, but we’re gonna let justice run its course. Let the police do the investigation before we cast any judgment. The reality is, when you’re worth, god knows what he’s worth, people try to come after it.”’
McGregor is coming off back-to-back loses to Dustin Poirier. Since their last bout in 2021, McGregor has been recovering from a brutal leg injury. The lightweight standout is expected to return in 2023.
