Michael Chandler has no problem backing himself to a win a fight against the current UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev.
Chandler is contently waiting for Conor McGregor having last fought in November 2022 . The fans are eager to see him back given the excitment he provides inside the Octagon, but Chandler’s content in waiting for this lucrative payday with the Irish UFC star.
Many are criticizing Chandlers willingness to wait with the brawler only getting older currently 37 and missing opportunities. On top of this there have been no signs as to when McGregor will return many speculating never. In turn despite his willingness to wait based on some guarantee from the UFC Chandler has been growing frustrated.
More recently Chandler is taking to lashing out on Twitter to those questioning his decisions.
Michael Chandler Backs Himself Against Islam Makhachev
One fan stressed that Chandler was getting older and his peak athletic years could be dangling on by a thread, but the former Bellator MMA champion insisted he’s not the same as everybody else.
An Islam fan warned Chandler to not come for the lightweight kingpin Makhachev, but he was quickly put right back in his place with Chandler believing his style would cause big problems for the champion.
This raises an interesting question does Chandler beat Makhachev?
To many the answer is no all you have to do is look at the replies but Chandler has a chance. Although Chandler isn’t known for it the man has wrestling credentials having great success as an All-American collegiate wrestler. His wrestling pedigree can be seen in many of his Bellator fights and did make a recent appearance in a losing effort against Dustin Poirier. This provides Chandler with a solid base to potentially compete with.
