Michael Chandler says that he would demolish the Stockton legend Nate Diaz on a recent tweet. The former UFC lightweight title contender tweeted that he would definitely be open for the UFC to set up the fight between the two fighters.
Michael Chandler is seemingly eyeing up his next fights after his clash with Conor McGregor, if it ever happens that is. His main aim seems to be the UFC legend Nate Diaz. Nate Diaz is recently coming out of a rather disappointing boxing match against the ever erratic Jake Paul.
Michael Chandler took to Twitter to talk about his desire to fight Diaz. ‘Regarding @arielhelwani question about @NateDiaz209- I had to answer… and yes, I absolutely bludgeon him and finish him within two rounds. He has great cardio, but not in the storm I bring… but would be a fun fight by two REAL FIGHTERS.’
Michael Chandler tweeted this as a continuation to his recent interview with Ariel Helwani. certainly the fight would drum up a lot of attention but who would actually win?
Michael Chandler vs Nate Diaz
Who would actually win between these two giants of the lightweight division? Chandler is a relentless force of devastation however Diaz is an absolute veteran of the UFC.
Michael Chandler’s current record sits at 23-8-0. Sadly, his record in the UFC isn’t as spectacular as it sits at 4-3. However what can’t be denied is that he has fought the absolute best of the best that the UFC lightweights have to offer. With wins over Dan Hooker and Tony Ferguson and closely contested battles with Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje, his only real devastating loss in the UFC was against Charles Oliveira. A powerful puncher with high level wrestling, Michael Chandler is a real threat.
On to the other giant, Nate Diaz is a monster in the octagon. His record currently stands at 22-13-0 in MMA and is one of the most prolific UFC fighters in history. Diaz has seen off some of the most famous lightweight fighters such as Anthony Pettis, Donald Cerrone and Tony Ferguson. Also no one could forget his legendary win over Michael Chandler’s next opponent, Conor McGregor. However, like Chandler, he has suffered many losses in the UFC. Some examples being McGregor, Jorge Masvidal, Rafael Dos Anjos and weirdly enough, the current Welterweight champion Leon Edwards. A great all round fighter with a constant desire to fight, you have to finish him to beat him.
Between the two fighters, they both hold attributes that would make the fight a long a difficult one for both of them. However, no matter what, it would be an absolutely stunning fight for fans around the world. Do you think Michael Chandler will fight Nate Diaz? Let us know in the comments below!
