Fresh off a win at Rise and Conquer 10. UK Heavyweight Michael Parkin announced that he was heading to Vegas in August to compete for a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series. In his most recent fight, the big Brit looked unstoppable.
Taking on a tough competitor in Fatih Akraf, Mick made it look easy. Dominating the first round wherever the fight went. Parkin got the finish in the second when he took his opponent down and unleashed some ferocious ground and pound. Opening up a huge cut on Faith’s forehead, leaving the ref no choice but to stop it.
Michael Parkin
Now 5-0 Mick has looked unbeatable in his short career so far. In five fights as a pro Parkin has finished all by TKO in either the first or second round. Not only unbeaten as a pro, but Michael also remained undefeated on the amateur scene accruing a record of 6-0-1.
Known for being a big guy, Mick is more than that when he steps into the cage. Using his size to his advantage, Parkin is also extremely technical, setting up his shots and not just relying on power. An all-around mixed martial artist, who can produce the goods on the feet and the mat. Mick mixes all up well and uses all his tools to pick up the victory.
The Contender Series
Taking some relatively unknown fighters and giving them a platform to shine. The Contender Series has been the birthplace of some of the UFC’s brightest stars of recent. With Mick set to compete, he could be giving his career a well-earned springboard and take his game to the next level.
Already surrounded by some top UK fighters, such as Darren Till, Phil de Fries, Tom Aspinall and more. Michael will look to learn from some of the best and replicate their form in the MMA world.
Does Michael Parkin have what it takes to go all the way to the top?
