Michael “Venom” Page could be coming to the UFC soon.
The biggest star coming from Bellator, MVP has been a free agent since a few months now. Back at UFC 286, Page was in attendance and the broadcast showed him on the big screen. Usually UFC would ignore free agent fighters at their events but MVP is really popular. At the UFC294 pre fight press conference, Page posted a picture with the CEO and president of the UFC, Dana White, which only added speculation of the two can be in business soon. Following UFC 294, Dana White confirmed at the press conference that there is interest and there are talks from both parties to join the UFC.
“Listen, he’s a kid that we’re definitely interested in and he’s interested, too. So, possibly,”
Michael Venom Page Desire For The UFC
Michael Venom Page, now 36, at the tail end of his career, said that he’d always compete one day in the UFC before the end of his career. Even during the peak of his career and at Bellator, he always expressed his desire to be in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. His Bellator relationship has been up and down with publicly venting about his frustrations with the company on a few occasions.
If MVP signs with the UFC, it would be the first time Page fights outside of Bellator. Page signed with Bellator back in May of 2014. Michael Venom Page has an illustrious 18 fights in the Bellator league. Only 2 losses, one by knockout versus Douglas Lima and the other coming via a split decision loss versus Logan Storley. Although he never won the belt in Bellator, he was the most exciting fighter and most well known from there. Page also took part in a Bare Knuckle fight versus Mike Perry where he lost in a majority decision
Now, MVP has his eyes set for the UFC and is looking to jump into the top ranking of the exciting welterweight division.
