Michael Venom Page (MVP) looks forward to ‘exciting’ opportunity ahead of Ian Garry clash this weekend.
MVP who is renowned for his unorthodox fighting style looks set for what could be a career defining win.
Page also spoke about the future on the FREESTYLEBENDER.
MVP Looks Ahead to Difficult Ian Garry Test
Given the hype surrounding this weeks fight and the verbal volleys the pair have traded on social media. Saturday cannot come soon enough for fight fans.
Speaking on the FREESTYLEBENDER podcast Michael Venom Page said; “It’s bit of fun for me, I like a bit of banter, the back and forth. I know Ian Garry is the time of guy that bites to it and I like it. It’s all fun and games, we stress ourselves out enough in the gym and I want to make everything else enjoyable.”
MVP went on to comment about the lifestyle Ian Garry has. The Irishman is constantly moving from different gyms in order to become a complete fighter. Whilst many have criticised his loyalty to a single coach Michael Venom Page believes that Garry will struggle with success in his career. The reason behind this is that MVP believes that lack of stability will hinder Ian Garry career and that he need to settle down in a gym.
Michael Venom Page went on to say; “I haven’t followed Garry’s career closely he has had a few difficult fights. He seems to have an ability to find a win whilst not being at his best. He could have lost his last fight, it’s part of the game anything can happen. After me he is definitely going to be battle tested.”
MVP Eyes up Kamaru Usman for Next Fight
Michael Venom Page also expressed how if he beats Ian Garry he would like to face Kamaru Usman in his next fight. The British fighter said; “I look at the next fight which makes sense. You have the likes of Gilbert Burns but he is coming off a loss so he needs to establish himself. Jack Della Maddalena and Shavkat Rakhmonov who are going to face off.”
“You have Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammed Usman is just chilling there. He is ranked number one, I have a massive amount of respect towards him for what he has done in his career. But he is just sat at the top and I look at where I would go next. It feels like other fighters are matched up unless it could be that Usman is injured and other reasons.”
MVP went on to say; “If I want a title fight next it’s likely I would have to fight once more and Usman makes more sense. I think it will be a great fight.”
MVP Gives Leon Edwards vs Belal Muhammed Fight Preview
Finally, with all the hype around his own fight this weekend, MVP gave a prediction on how Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammed plays out. The pair are scheduled to face off on the 27th of July.
Michael Venom Page said; “It’s going to be a really slowed paced fight. Both of them are really slow paced fighters and they look to take their time, it’s not a negative. Belal will obviously want to takedown Leon who has a great takedown and wrestling which a lot of people underestimate. The fact that Leon was able to take down Usman given his pedigree is unreal.”
“As they both lose energy, the striking ability will remain high with Leon, whereas Belal will probably be a lot more sloppier. I think it will go the distance but I think in terms of shots landed it will sway towards Leon. It will be a decision win for Leon Edwards.
