Michael “Venom” Page may not be in the main event at UFC 299, but there is no denying that there are going to be many eyes on his debut vs. Kevin Holland.
The UFC’s been strategic with the UFC 299 matchmaking, and adding MVP’s debut to the main card is guaranteed $$.
As dominant as Michael “Venom” Page has been during his mixed martial arts career, he is going to walk through fire in this debut against a very dangerous Kevin Holland.
Holland is a wild card against any man in the UFC. You never know what to expect and his resume is proof that he should not be taken lightly. The wild finishes he has had (for example, his round one knockout of Jacare Souza) are a must-watch to understand even more that Holland is dangerous everywhere.
Joe Rogan and Dan Soder Discuss Michael “Venom” Page vs. Holland
During an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan had stand-up comedian Dan Soder as a guest star. After all of their interesting discussions, the topic moved to MVP vs. Kevin Holland.
“That’s a real fight. Cause Kevin Holland is f*n dangerous. He’s f*n dangerous and he’s got a lot of MMA experience. A lot. And he’s very good on the ground and he’s got ridiculous one-punch power. And that’s also a welterweight fight where Kevin I think is at his most dangerous. At 170 Kevin is so f*n dangerous,” Rogan said 2:43:57 into the podcast.
Let’s hope we get the best and Michael “Venom” Page shines brightly on one of the biggest stages the UFC could offer. Page getting such a marquee spot on a marquee card in his debut says all it needs to. Who knows if Octagon jitters are a legit thing and who knows if MVP will experience that feeling, but he has a lot of critics to silence, and what better way of doing it than at UFC 299?
This fight is a must-watch. No matter if you are a fan of MVP or not, he will no doubt be tested against Holland. If he can get a violent finish, the sky is the limit in the UFC for MVP and we may be talking title contention sooner rather than later.
