In the recent Joe Rogan Experience podcast with Perry, Mike Perry respectfully calls out the King of Lethwei, Dave Leduc.
At 14:18 of the episode, Rogan asks Perry what’s his thoughts on competing in Lethwei; although he didn’t appear familiar with Lethwei, Perry said he was familiar with Leduc.
“I wanna fight him”, says Perry following with, “Like I said, I want a challenge”, referring to him making short work of former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold in his last fight at BKFC.
Mike Perry Calls Out Dave Leduc and Receives Response
We reached out to Dave Leduc, who was happy to respond to Perry’s call out.
“I have mastered this game. Lethwei is the ultimate test for strikers. Headbutts, no gloves, KO to win. I don’t think Mike wants that smoke. But if he really wants to test himself, let’s arrange it. He’s been doing a killing over at BKFC. I actually was in discussion with David Feldman a couple of months ago when he was trying to buy the World Lethwei Championship. I’m sure Feldman could arrange a Lethwei super fight in Wyoming, where Lethwei is legal. Fight fans would go crazy, and BKFC would make history.
Perry said concerning headbutts that he’s been told by promotions, “We don’t go that far.”
Leduc replied, “I go that far.”
Will Perry vs Leduc Happen?
With Perry’s future currently unknown, anything is possible. This Mike Perry call-out has caught fight fans by surprise.
Perry wants a challenge, and that is something he would get from Leduc.
Dave Leduc is currently in the process of hosting the latest Marshall Fighting Championship event MFC 2 Apocalypse, in Slovakia on July 8th.
Leduc has always fought to promote Lethwei worldwide, and a fight of this calibre on US soil would no doubt help grow Lethwei to a worldwide audience.
With both Leduc and Perry open for this fight, will Feldman and BKFC take this opportunity to make a huge fight for the fans?.
