Mike Tyson Teases Boxing Comeback After Jake Paul Fight
Ahead of his much-anticipated return to the ring against Jake Paul, Mike Tyson has hinted at the possibility of a full boxing comeback. The former heavyweight champion, who has been out of professional boxing since 2005, is set to face Paul this Friday, November 15. Although the 58-year-old is returning after nearly two decades, he is in remarkable shape and might be considering more than just one fight.
Tyson’s Thoughts on a Full Boxing Comeback
In an interview with Mail Online, Tyson discussed the potential for a full boxing comeback. When asked if he would continue after this fight, he stated, “Nothing will be excluded after I knock out Jake Paul. Listen, I’m taking this one fight, one person at a time. But if this one goes as well as I expect, then a full comeback is not off the table.”
These words have fuelled speculation that Tyson could be eyeing a return to boxing beyond his clash with Paul.
The fight, which pits the 58-year-old Tyson against the 27-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer, has been surrounded by controversy, particularly due to the 31-year age difference. Yet, Tyson seems undeterred, keeping the door open for future bouts should this one go as planned.
Tyson Eye’s Boxing’s Best
When asked about potential future opponents, Tyson didn’t hold back. He hinted that no fighter is off-limits:
“As I said, anything and everything would be included.” Names like Tyson Fury, Oleksandr Usyk, and Daniel Dubois were mentioned as possible contenders if Tyson decides to pursue a full comeback in boxing.
Although a return at his age seems unlikely, Tyson’s intense training and apparent readiness have fuelled rumours about his long-term plans. His legendary manager and friend, Gene Kilroy, recently commented on Tyson’s fitness, saying he’s in the best shape he’s ever seen:
“Tyson was in the best shape I’d ever seen him in,” Kilroy remarked, adding to the excitement surrounding the former champion’s possible future in the sport.
A Mike Tyson comeback feels far-fetched, and likely a statement to hype up Saturday’s fight in Texas, USA.
