Mike Tyson Slaps Jake Paul During Final Face-off
Mike Tyson slaps Jake Paul yesterday after the pair faced-off for their final time.
The final face-off between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul began in dramatic fashion. Tyson, 58, slapped Paul across the face before the two stared each other down.
Both men were quickly separated by their team-members and any further physical conflict was avoided.
Tyson weighed in at 228.4 pounds, marginally heavier than Paul, who came in at 227.2. Their fight is scheduled as a heavyweight bout – the same division Tyson once reigned supreme over during the 90s.
Immediately after slapping Paul, ‘Iron’ Mike took to the microphone to say his piece.
“Talk is over.” he declared.
Paul however, seemed unfazed by the momentary outburst.
He said: “I didn’t even feel it. He’s angry. He’s an angry little elf. Mike Tyson, I thought that was a cute slap, buddy, but tomorrow you’re getting knocked the f*ck out. (…) It’s personal now! He must die!”
It’s Heating Up
European fans will be required to stay up until the early hours to view the event. Tyson and Paul are expected to make their ring-walks at around 4am U.K time on Saturday morning.
This timing is also dependent on the length of the fights on the main card, including Serrano vs. Taylor – which is booked for 10 rounds.
Originally, the fight was slated for July 20th, however an health issue on Tyson’s side forced the bout to be rescheduled. An ulcer flare-up was labelled as the issue.
The bout will happen tomorrow in Arlington, Texas at the AT&T stadium – home of the Dallas Cowboys. Streaming on Netflix, the unlikely duo will headline the card.
The co-main will see Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor rematch after their first fight in 2022. Taylor edged Serrano on the scorecards in a back and forth war that showed the elite calibre of both women.
