Mike Tyson today revealed the stipulations of his upcoming fight with Jake Paul.
The pair who are scheduled to fight on the 20th of July this year at the Dallas Cowboys stadium have reportedly sold 90% of the tickets already in the presale.
Tyson said it would be a ‘real fight’ as well as answering back at critics who slammed the bout.
Tyson and Paul to Fight in ‘Real Fight’ Conditions
Speaking to Fox News ahead of the fight, Tyson said: “This is called an exhibition. But if you look up exhibition, you will not see any of the rules that we are fighting under. This is a fight.
“I don’t think Jake Paul is faster than me. I’ve seen him on YouTube at 16 doing weird dances. That’s not the guy I’m going to be fighting.
“This guy is going to come and try to hurt me, which I’m accustomed to and he’s going to be greatly mistaken.
“I will beat Jake Paul,” added Tyson. “Right now, I’m scared to death, but as the fight gets closer the less nervous I become. Because this is reality, and in reality I’m invincible.
“I will [teach Paul a lesson], but do I dislike him? No. I do not have no grudges against him, he’s beautiful, and no it’s not from that perspective.”
Despite Mike Tyson not making any references to what exactly the rules were, it seems that the pair are preparing to put their respective boxing records on the line in this bout.
‘Iron Mike’ Slams Critics in Rant to Media
When the fight was announced it drew wide spread criticism from former boxers, coaches and MMA fighters across the world with many highlighting the age gap between Tyson and Paul.
One of the most vocal critics is former boxer and Coach Barry McGuigan who said: “The governing body should be seriously badly reprimanded for that, getting a 57-year-old guy in to box.
“That’s just really stupid and irresponsible. He shouldn’t be near a boxing ring at 57 years old. It’s just very irresponsible. It’s very dangerous.
“The problem with so many of these influencers boxing is that the general public think anybody can do it. They can’t.
“That’s what annoys the professional fighters about these influencers.”
Tyson today fought back at his critics and said people are ‘jealous’ and went on to say: “I’m 58 and what? I’m getting billions of views from just talking to somebody about fighting.”
