After a prolonged absence from the cage, Miles Manning is gearing up to make his return at the upcoming British Fighting Championship (BFC) event. Ahead of his highly anticipated comeback bout against Yves Musasa, Miles shared insights into his time away and his eagerness to step back into the spotlight.
Addressing his hiatus from competition, Miles opened up about his struggle with recurring skin problems:
“Leading up to my last fight and after it, I was dealing with skin problems where I kept getting staph every couple of months,” he revealed: “It wasn’t the best thing to have for motivation to keep fighting and competing. Eventually, I got it sorted and have been dying for a fight for a while now.”
Despite his absence from official bouts, Miles remained dedicated to his training regimen:
“I was still training throughout my absence from competition,” he affirmed: “I’ve been doing martial arts since I was 5, so it’s a big part of my life and quitting proves hard even if I’ve fallen in and out of love with it over the years. I’m either boxing the local amateurs or doing BJJ. I’ll never be away from training.”
Miles Manning Ready to Return at BFC 5
As he prepares to step back into the cage, Miles emphasized his focus on showcasing disciplined technique:
“I’m hoping to show solid, clean, and disciplined technique, whether it be in striking or grappling,” he said: “I have a tendency to get sucked into a brawl.”
Discussing his upcoming opponent, Yves Musasa, Miles expressed anticipation rather than concern regarding ring rust. “Maybe there will be, I can’t say. I’ve only had 3 fights which were spread out over a long time, so whatever I gained in experience of competing at MMA events, dealing with the weight cut, the nerves, the audience and such, can’t have been much,” he reflected: “What I’m trying to say is I don’t think I gained that much experience anyway even with ring rust added to it. I’m just excited to have another scrap.”
Regarding Musasa’s previous fights, Miles acknowledged the importance of adapting to different styles in the cage: “There’s a lot of things I’m impressed with, but that goes for anyone I’m going to be fighting. Styles make fights, however, and we will see how he deals with mine.”
When asked about the significance of his return at BFC 5, Miles emphasized his love for the sport over any specific outcome:
“There’s many more things that are important for me,” he reflected: “Competing in MMA or BJJ for that matter is an escape for me. I’m not fussed if I end up in the UFC or fighting on amateur shows the rest of my life. I simply enjoy the game.”
As Miles Manning prepares to step back into the spotlight, his resilience and passion for the sport shine through, promising an exciting matchup at BFC 5.
