Cage Warriors 147 just got a little bigger, with the addition of French MMA superstar ‘The Last Pirate’ Morgan Charrière and Croatia’s #1 ranked featherweight Daniel Bažant.
The pair will meet in a featured bout on the latest edition of CW: Unplugged from the BT Sport Studios on Sunday, November 20th, streamed live on UFC Fight Pass.
Cage Warriors 147: Morgan Charrière Back On The Championship Ladder
Former 145lb champion ‘The Last Pirate’ will make his highly anticipated return to the cage following a 13-month absence after his scheduled October bout against Alberth Dias was scrapped at the eleventh hour due to complications with his opponent’s weight-cut.
‘The Last Pirate’ will be looking to bounce back from a pair of razor-thin decision losses to Jordan Vucenic and newly crowned featherweight champion Paul Hughes in 2021.
Prior to that, the 27-year-old had amassed a three-fight winning streak in the famous yellow gloves, earning a points victory over the durable Lewis Monarch before stopping former champion Dean Trueman.
Charrière would go on to capture featherweight gold in emphatic fashion, with a highlight-reel body-shot knockout of Perry Goodwin at CW 119.
Looking to spoil the Frenchman’s return is Croatian Daniel Bažant.
The 31-year-old from Pula, Croatia, will make his promotional debut on the back of a three-fight winning streak, during which he captured and defended a national title.
With his two most recent wins coming against experienced opposition in the form of UFC veterans Rony Jason and Iuri Alcantara, Bažant will be looking to add another notable name to his hitlist when he faces the ultra-popular ‘Last Pirate’.
Words From Graham Boylan
“We’ve got two championship calibre fighters going at it in a bout that could have serious implications for the Cage Warriors featherweight division…” said President Graham Boylan.
“Morgan has been waiting over a year to get back in the cage and show his army of fans that he belongs at the top of the pecking order, but he’ll have a stern test in front of him in Daniel, who’s beaten some serious opposition to get here.”
“This is a massive addition to our card at the BT Sport Studios, and anybody who’s seen these guys fight before will know it could very well steal the whole show!”
Charrière vs Bažant joins an already stacked card featuring ‘King’ George Hardwick’s first defence of his lightweight title against ‘The Bad Guy’ Chris Bungard and Shaj ‘Superman’ Haque challenging Sam ‘Urai’ Creasey for flyweight gold.
Cage Warriors 147: Unplugged is a special, invite-only event at the BT Sport studios, but fans will be able to catch all the action live on UFC Fight Pass and global broadcast partners.
