Moshe Aladi is set to compete in front of a UK audience for the first time in his career, and the amateur talent promises to deliver for those in attendance at Golden Ticket Fight Promotions 22.
Aladi will fly to England and feature in the promotions four-man bantamweight tournament, which will see the winner attain GTFP gold and earn a £500 purse for their work.
The Israel-born athlete is more than excited to compete in the UK and believes his style will bring a smile to the GTFP fans on fight night. Ahead of June 3rd’s battle with Zak McGee, we had the pleasure of speaking with Moshe Aladi. Hear what he had to say below.
Interview With Moshe Aladi
You are all set for your third competitive matchup of 2023 at Golden Ticket Fight Promotions 22. How would you sum up your year thus far?
It’s actually my fourth fight this year.I had another fight on the 30.3.23
I won the main event via guillotine choke in the first round. I am not happy about my performance this year on IMMAFF Worlds. I lost a fight I should have won. I only got better from it.
Your entire amateur career has consisted of competing under IMMAF European and World Championships. Are you looking forward to competing under an actual show in GTFP 22 in a slightly different environment?
Actually, it’s not. My real amateur record is 13-2 and not 5-2, like Tapology says. Israel local events don’t go on Tapology or Sherdog. I have fought in events and even a main event three times. I have a very large following in Israel. I will love to fight in England. I can’t wait to put on a show for the English fans that I heard are crazy. I love it! I can’t wait to feel the energy.
Moshe Aladi Talks Representing Israel
You proudly wear the Israel flag with you to battle. Talk to me about what it means to you to be able to represent your country at these prestigious tournaments/events.
I take the flag to every fight. First of all, I am proud of my country. But even more, I love to use the sport to meet fighters and fans from around the world and show them a side of Israel that they might not know. The people in it and that we are all the same no matter nationality or religion.
At Golden Ticket, you will take part in a bantamweight tournament. The first fighter in your way is Zak McGee. What do you know about him, if anything?
Zak looks like an amazing fighter. Tall, long, can fight in both stances and have a very aggressive grappling game. I love it. These are exactly the challenges I love to make me a better fighter. At the end of the day, I know it’s going to be an amazing, fun fight.
Have you had the opportunity to look into the other two guys in the tournament, or is your full focus on Zak McGee first and foremost?
Sure, I looked at them. Jack and Garon both have a hard fight between themselves before they face me.
Background into MMA
For the UK viewers who may not be aware of you. Can you just give them a brief background on yourself, your journey into the sport, and the goals you may have?
I got to know the sport when I was in a bad place in my late teen years, and I felt quite lost. The sport drew me in and filled me with a new sense of purpose. Today this is all I do in life. I only focus on getting better. I know I have to be committed to my goals 100%.
And if you’ve already asked about my goals- first, I used the amateur level to get better, then turn pro and get to the UFC., and I knew it was only a matter of time until I got there. When I get there, I want to become a dominant champion, and I don’t aspire to be one of the best in the world. I aspire to be the best in the world.
On June 3rd, you’ll have many new eyes on you. But before, they get a look at you and your style. What can they expect from Moshe Aladi?
I like to think of myself as a true well-rounded fighter. My cardio is on point, and I like to push the pace and find the cracks in my opponent’s game. It’s a storm fighting me. If you leave anything for me to take, I’m taking it. Your neck, your arm or your face.
When you look into Zak’s game, is there anything you see that causes concern, or do you feel you have the edge in every department?
Zak is very good. With that said – I’m better. There are many things to watch in his game, but that’s the level we are fighting. I am sure we can be friends after that. But first…war!
Visualisation
Finally, how do you visualise yourself defeating Zak McGee at Golden Ticket Fight Promotions?
I know exactly how I’m going to win. Come and see the fight. I got a few surprises.
On a personal note, I have never fought in the UK, and I would love to put on a hell of a show for you guys and come back for the finals. I am very open and love people. Any fan that sees me can feel free to come and say hello. That’s the best part of this sport.
