Lerdisla Training Camp Routine
Crack of dawn sessions is a thing of the past for Lerdsila. At 41, Lerdsila needs to get the required rest to kick-start his day.
Starting his day with a very light breakfast of half a banana and a coffee, followed by his morning session for a 7:45/8am start.
If Lerdsila’s training camp requires some weight loss, he may do a light 3/4km run with a sauna suit. If not, then he says he would likely not run.
To help maintain his incredible movement and flexibility, Lerdisla starts with 5 to 10 minutes of dynamic stretching, bouncing, leaning, and active stretching. The Thai climate means he is already warm with a light sweat.
2/3 rounds of skipping – 4 minutes
Shadow Boxing that consists of five 4-minute rounds. Shadow boxing for Lerdsila is very active & dynamic, utilising fast to flow and moves at all times.
5 rounds of Muay Thai pads – 4 minutes.
Changing from a more teep focused round, to freestyle & mixing in some power rounds.
2 rounds of 4 minutes Teeps & knees on the bag followed by a light stretch & cool down.
Lunchtime will consist of thai noodles with chicken/chilli and some sticky rice. Not one to waste a moment, Lerdisla uses this time to talk with friends and for responding to social media.
To maximise recovery, a sleep of 2-3 hours followed by a light snack, usually fruit or a protein shake & small portion of chicken rice.
Afternoon training
The afternoon is when Lerdsila goes to work, starting with three to four 4 minutes rounds of shadow boxing to warm his muscles. Jumping into the below routine.
Sparring 5 rounds – 4 minutes
Clinch 4/5 rounds – 4 minutes
2 rounds 4 minutes Teeps & knees on the bag
Cool down & light stretch.
Dinner time spent with friends and family consists of BBQ pork, beef & chicken cooked on the BBQ at the gym or thai buffet.
Lerdisla finishes his day with a sauna, the required hydration and sleep.
We would like to thank Boyd and Lerdisla for letting us into their lives, and for the opportunity to bring you a day in the life of a Muay Thai warrior.
