Rising UFC flyweight Muhammad Mokaev speaks on upcoming surgery, hoping to find a match-up for UFC 286 in London.
Muhammad Mokaev Announces Injury
Mokeav has recently stood out as one to watch in the UFC flyweight division. With an undefeated record, both armature and pro, Mokeav was sure he’d make it to the UFC, with aspirations of surpassing Jon Jones as the youngest-ever champion. So far, Mokeav has impressed fans and fighters across the world with his relentless pressure and intense wrestling. He remains undefeated in his first three fights with the promotion.
During his current crusade to become champion, a dislocated shoulder has seemingly halted his momentum. Mokeav recently took to twitter to announce this injury, captioning, “Unfortunately, I have dislocated my shoulder, now I will wait for the operation. Thanks to all my supporters I promise I will be back as soon as possible, I promise! Love you all!”
With so many brits eager to get on the UFC London card, Mokeav is no exception. However, with surgery and healing, it’s a race against time to prepare for the fight card in March. Mokeav is no stranger to injuries, even at the young age of 22. Last year, he broke his hand before his UFC debut in London. He tweeted, “The exact same day last year I have broke my hand before my UFC London debut. I will do everything to fight on UFC London card! I tried to keep the operation until after the fight, but I can’t even lift my arm.”
Last year when facing Cody Duden in his UFC debut, Mokeav made quick work of his opponent via an impressive flying knee, which led to a Guillotine finish in the first round. Although Mokeav is set for surgery, it is clear to see he wants to waste no time before his next fight.
