Muhammad “The Punisher” Mokaev returns to MMA at the end of this year for the first time since his UFC departure.
Undefeated Brit Muhammad Mokaev [13-0-0] is keen to make a statement in his return to competition later this year. The Dagestan-born Flyweight Mokaev was seemingly on the brink of a title shot when he last fought at UFC 304.
Dominating Manel Kape to a unanimous decision victory it seemed the UK MMA scene had yet another future champion. Surprisingly, after the fight it was announced the UFC would not renew Mokaev’s contract due to his poor relationship with the matchmakers.
Despite apologising and offering to fight for free, Mokaev sought competition elsewhere. He ultimately would re-sign with Brave CF the company where Muhammad began his MMA career.
3 months after leaving the UFC and joining Brave, it seems Mokaev has a fight on the horizon.
Muhammad Mokaev’s Return to the Octagon Confirmed
The unscathed Mokaev has breezed his way through every fighter that’s shared the octagon with him. Keen to stay busy Mokaev competed in a grappling match against Rogerio Bontorin at ADXC 6 on October the 25th.
Bontorin would go on to win the match controlling Mokaev to a decision victory. Despite tasting defeat Mokaev had nothing but respect for his opponent:
“Today, I lost by split decision at the grappling event against a very tough opponent! He had a better plan, I congratulate him and his team! Another 15 minutes of experience.”
With extra minutes in the bank “The Punisher” will be keen to return to winning ways at Brave CF. The company have confirmed that Mokaev will fight at the end of the year on either December 13th or 15th.
Brave CF released a poster featuring Muhammad Mokaev, to announce Brave 91 and 92 at the Khalifa Sports City Arena. Though not confirmed whether Mokaev will fight on Brave 91 or 92, Mokaev features on the left side of the poster which may imply he will appear at Brave 91.
Muhammad Mokaev will be eager to put on a show in the hopes of impressing the UFC and achieving his much-wanted return to the promotion.
